I want out of my house so I can get away from my crazy mom and be with my dad, what can I do?

My mom and I are at each other%26#039;s throats. She says EXTREMELY hurtful things to me (like if people really close to me drown in a creek that she wouldn%26#039;t send flowers and she wouldn%26#039;t attend the funeral and that she hates them and wishes that would happen to them) and then when I bring them up in the middle of a fight she denies them and makes me feel like I%26#039;m going insane. I want to move out of my house and in with my dad, my parents split up about 6 years ago and my dad lost visitation rights. Since then, however, he has gone through counseling and really gotten his act together, we have recently reconnected and started to bond again and I think I would be much more stable living there. I don%26#039;t want to get my dad in trouble but I can%26#039;t stay here with my mom mentally abusing me like this. (My mom and I have also been in a physical confrontation but neither of us %26#039;started%26#039; it) I want out, please help.

First how old are you ? In different states they have an age that u can actually chose whom you want to live with. You need to get someone to check it out for you. Maybe talk to a counselor at school or another trusted family member or adult. If it is that bad you really need to be careful but donot runaway because you could end up in a worse situation. o.k. Hope this helps some. What about a grandmother or aunt and uncle ? Find someone to talk to. copperfish
Reply:Please edit your question and state your age and sex. Also, if you are comfortable with sharing it, why did your dad lose his rights? Someone may have a specific ideas for you if you can answer these questions.

If your dad is not allowed to be around minors, you would have to be emancipated before you could even check into living with him. The laws vary state to state.

Most importantly though is for you to get someone to talk to so that your mother does not drive you crazy. You can work on getting out of there, but in the meantime, please try to talk to someone about this. Your mother sounds unstable, I don%26#039;t think she should be around anyone.

Good luck to you dear. I hope things get better for you.
Reply:Get a job, be able to pay your own bills. Then go to court and get emancipated, move where ever you wish to. But just because you have %26quot;reconnected%26quot; and %26quot;started to bond%26quot; with your father doesn%26#039;t mean you%26#039;ll be able to live with him either.
Reply:part of this depends on your age. You may be able to get an attorney and go to court and get the changes that you desire. It will mean getting your Dad taking your Mom back to court and getting custody of you. It depends on where you live and the laws in your state. I totally understand where you are coming from. Your Mom needs to consider your wants and needs. Divorce is tough and you can get through this. I am a grand mother. good luck and God Bless you.
