Why do people think those in the public eye don't deserve some privacy in death for their families?

I see:-

The queues of people waiting outside Heath Ledger%26#039;s apartment

The people asking about Mark Speight%26#039;s funeral and when it is and sending flowers.

People watch a few tv shows or pay to see a film or bumped into them and they think they should turn up for these things or send flowers - you didn%26#039;t know them and you are not family/close friends - where has common respect for privacy gone?

The poor families having to cope with all their grief plus the multitude of idiots popping up wanting to put their two penny%26#039;s worth in.

Why do people think this kind of intrusion is now acceptable?

Why do people think those in the public eye don%26#039;t deserve some privacy in death for their families?
Basically it%26#039;s because they have never either grown up with nor been taught good manners and how to behave with decency - they are pariahs.
Reply:Well all of Australia laughed at the ridiculous outpouring of grief over Diana from you Brits.

Ask anyone nowadays and they all deny that they were sobbing or delivering flowers.

So I spose the mountain of flowers we saw and all the people openly weeping in the street was just an illusion then?

Sorry but the Brits are as bad as Yanks when it comes to crying over something thats got nothing to do with them.
Reply:of course they deserve privacy when someone dies in the family. Its just nosiness on the part of the media, feeding nosiness from the public, who would probably have more respect if it wasnt forced on them every time they open a paper.
Reply:Just let them do whatever they want to do

There is nothing u can do when we are in the situation like that.

If u care too much about it, u will be ended up getting a lot of stress.
Reply:I agree, I%26#039;ve just asked a similar question.

Just a bunch of Morbid Numpties.
Reply:live in the public eye, die in the public eye you cant have one without the other
Reply:I have just posted a similar question, lol.
Reply:I agree but people often have a higher degree of respect for them and rightly or wrongly share the grief at least for a while. Lord Reith has been laughed at in recent years for insisting that his announcers wore a dinner jacket when they were on a radio programmes on the grounds that they were guests in peoples houses. In fairness to him in his social circles they did just that. therein lies part of the explanation. They were guests in our homes and some people have difficulty in recognising fiction and acting from fact. The real problem comes when the family are harassed. The Media, in fairness do tend to back off at times like this when requested. The problem then lies with the idiots.who think they have some propriety rights over the deceased. Although I would not do it myself I see no harm in sending flowers, cards, Mass cards or donations to the favourite charity of the deceased in memory of them as long as the doners do not expect to be acknowledged
Reply:I agree with you, the thought of having to greave through a funeral when you know there are hoards of people out side is terrible. And when somebody pokes a microphone in their face and ask,%26quot;this must be hard for you%26quot; or %26quot;how are you feeling%26quot;.......Christ, how do they think they are feeling. I would not dream of encroaching on somebodies grief.

When my father died, after the cremation his close friends came and spoke to me, and that was fine, some just waved and blew a kiss, which was nice. But then people who I didn%26#039;t have the faintest idea who they were, started to come over, and at one stage I just wanted to scream at the to bugger off and leave me alone. I felt guilty but really needed that tI%26#039;me alone, and im glad I did.

Leave people alone in there time of grief, unless you are close relations.
Reply:I wanted to be In show business until I realized

that ordinary folks seem to have what

celebrities don%26#039;t....Privacy.

Keanu Reeves can%26#039;t sit outside a coffee house

to have a cup of coffee without a camera in

his face. When I hear about one of those

paparazzi getting hit and their camera

smashed up, they%26#039;re just getting

what%26#039;s coming to them for

getting too close.

If those vultures weren%26#039;t chasing her, I believe that

Princess Diana could still be alive today, Even if

the driver was drunk, the princess still might have

made it home alright.

I stopped watching shows like Cheaters and TMZ, because

of the blatant disregard for someones privacy. After a while

I couldn%26#039;t stand TMZ, how the reporters would sit in their

little press area and discuss a celebrities every single

move they make.

Some people just do the two pennies thing because

they want to be in the limelight, hoping to get noticed.

Some really don%26#039;t care, they just want to be able to

say, I was there.

Some just think it%26#039;s okay to invade, because they can until

you pop them one. Forget freedom of the press for as

long as you want and figure, Yeah they gotta eat too,

but at the expense of ruining lives. It sickens me.
