How humiliated would you be?

I went to my friends funeral at the gravesite and I brought her a flower ( against the advice of the Y!A community ) . It was a gerber daisy and I had a charm put on it that said %26quot; I love you my friend %26quot;.


The charm must of been lead or something because when they started to throw flowers on her coffin after it was lowered, mine made a huge %26quot;CLANG!%26quot; . It dented the coffin. It startled me so I blurted out %26quot; Sorry girl, My bad. %26quot;





Im so embarrassed !

How humiliated would you be?
I know how embarrassed you must feel, but think of it like this: Your friend would probably have laughed her head off. She is probably laughing now. Don%26#039;t worry about being humiliated. Believe me, we all have those moments, some worse than others, but the thought behind your%26#039;s was sweet. You meant no harm. Don%26#039;t beat yourself up about it. It%26#039;s okay.

I got in trouble at my dads funeral, my mom slapped me and my sister upside the head, and we were in our 20%26#039;s





see he was a joker and had requested without anyone knowing to have %26quot;How great thou Art%26quot; played at his funeral for the shits and giggles and we cracked up laughing (it was ok the people behind us thought we were sobbing until mommy whacked us one each)





what makes that funny is that his Name was Art and he always said that song wasnt written about God, but about him and how great he was
Reply:I think she may have been having a laugh with you directly. Do not be embarrassed. Some things happen at funerals that are just well, way out there. I have seen weird things happen that would only make the dead person snigger or laugh uncontrollably if they could. Its like they wanted it to happen. I am sure your friend appreciated your gift and just wanted the rest of the funeral cortege to know about it.
Reply:Your friend would have loved the clang, the charm and the gerbers. Be sure you go back and pay your respects again soon. Next time leave the clangy stuff at the florist. I lost my best friend in february and got the giggles at his memorial service. I also called the funeral a %26quot;wedding%26quot; every time it came up lol. My friend would have loved that.

2. Everyone knows you obviously loved her a lot and didn%26#039;t mean it


3. Many people do strange things because they can%26#039;t handle a sudden thing like a close friend dying so no one should think wrong of you.

Reply:no big deal, sounds like it may have lightened the mood a little. my best friend tripped and fell flat on her face at my mom%26#039;s funeral. she was terribly embarrased. but when we look back on that day, we see it as a %26quot;fond%26quot; memory and it makes us smile. : )
