My Uncles Pitt Bull Female, passed away yesterday afternoon, what can I say to comfort him when I feel so sad?

She was the sweetest Pitt in the world. She use to lick me all the time when I visited. I saw her all the time. I use to baby sit her. I found out this morning. She died yesterday. She was 10 years old and still acted like a young pup. I have been crying all morning. What do I say? I sent him a card and some flowers. (he loves flowers). He is having her cremated today.. We are going to plan a small funeral for her. She is going to be buried with my grandfather. (he loved princess). I just dont know if I should call him and then what do I say? other than I am sorry for your loss. This is his baby. He walked into the house and she was gone, on her bed. the other two were snuzzled up with her. My gram was bawling I have been bawling. Help please.

My Uncles Pitt Bull Female, passed away yesterday afternoon, what can I say to comfort him when I feel so sad?
why don't you make him a scrap book with her photos and favorite things.

Also just comfort him. Tell him that she never left and that her memory will always be with him FOREVER.

Im sorry for your families loss

Reply:Aw, that is so sad and very difficult to deal with. Here is a lovely poem. You can type it up, frame it with a photo of his dog and give it to him. (with a big hug, of course)

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Reply:Honey there really is nothing that can be said at this moment to ease your Uncle's pain. Time is the only thing that will help. Just being there for him will help alot. When my little Pom died 2 yrs ago, my husband bought 2 little white stuffed bears, we put one in with her when we cremated her and the other one sits in a memorial cabinet that we have at home. Maybe you have a nice picture of her that you can have blown up and framed. Also there is a poem called Rainbow Bridge, google it...that is a very nice poem. I'm not sure that I would give it to him right now though, maybe wait a couple of weeks. I am truly sorry for your families loss.
Reply:tell him this if he was close to the dog say / i know you where close to your dog you had a special connection with her but look god gave his son to save us from our sins i know you loved her but his up there with god playing in the big park in heaven look down on you and waiting to go and play no need to cry she's in a better place than us
Reply:aw made me tear =(

well when somebody loses something special i always tell them

you can only love what you have while you have it. Because everything ends, and nothing lasts for ever. It is our job to love and care for things put in our life for as long as they are with us.

don't let death keep us from loving new things, or fear of being hurt keep us from reaching out to love something new.

i'm am so sorry.. pets are so special, and they touch our hearts where no one else can.

Reply:Maaan, I dont know what to say, But, maybe tell him, your so sorry, and god must of known what a wonderful dog she was, and he had other plans for her, and they will be together again one day, and for him to try and not be sad, because princess wouldnt of wanted him to be sad and cry,

Maybe this will help comfort him

God.... I am sooooooooooo sorry ;(
Reply:I am so sorry to hear that. My 4 lb poodle died in November. She was just amazing. I cried so much there was nothing anyone could say or do to make me feel better. My 4 year old took it extremely hard and up until last week when I played this youtube.com video, http://www.youtube.com:80/watch?v=zCdZwi... she would cry herself to sleep. My little girl loved that dog too. There is really nothing you could say to someone to make them feel better. It is heart breaking to loose a pet. At least for me it is. To top it off we lost our 19 year old cat January 23, 2008. He died of old age. I am sitting here crying and feeling so bad for you and your uncle and remembering my dog and cat. Just give it time that's all you can do. Time will heal the hurt. It made me feel better after I watch that video. Maybe it will do the same for you and your uncle. I will say a prayer for you and him.

GOD BLESS YOU.

Soles
