Have you ever heard this poem?
I got flowers today. It wasn%26#039;t my birthday or any other special day. We had our first argument last night. He said a lot of really cruel things that really hurt me. I know he is sorry and didn%26#039;t mean the things he said because he sent me flowers today.
I got flowers today. It wasn%26#039;t our anniversary or any other special day. Last night he threw me into a wall and started to choke me. It seemed like a nightmare. I couldn%26#039;t believe it was real. I woke up this morning sore %26amp; bruised all over.I know he must be sorry because he sent me flowers today.
I got flowers today and it wasn%26#039;t Mother%26#039;s Day or any other special day. Last night he beat me again. It was much worse than all the other times. If I leave him, what will I do? How will I take care of my kids? What about money? I%26#039;m afraid of him %26amp; scared to leave. But I know he must be sorry because he sent me flowers today.
I got flowers today. Today was a very special day. It was the day of my funeral. Last night he finally killed me
Have you ever heard this poem?
I %26#039;ve never heard it before i don%26#039;t feel right saying it%26#039;s beautiful because it%26#039;s to damn sad. I have none three separate couples personally where their husbands killed their wives. One was a dear friend of mine i went to school with. All three husbands would come home drunk and hit their wives for know reason and all three were scared to death to leave. One wife actually did leave and one month later he broke into her home while all her kids were in bed the kids were his. He had a knife with him and she tried to run up the stairs to protect her kids and on the way up he was stabbing her when he stopped she managed to get to the bed where her kids was and she fell on the bed and died. The oldest son who was 14 at the time was trying to stop his father from hurting his mom but he was out of his mind and was to strong for the boy. When the dad realize what he did he killed himself he told everyone when she left him if he can%26#039;t have her no one will.

Men who abuse their mates always make the women feel like they are nothing, break them to a point where they lose all respect for themselves and feel like there is nothing else or no-one else out there for them. Reply:Yes, I have. It is a famous poem that is almost a daily reading for those of us who have been in abusive relationships. After I finally got up the nerve to leave.. I would cry my eyes out wondering if I did the right thing.. not for myself, I knew I had to get out.. but I felt so bad for my daughter (who I took with me and now have sole custody of her).. Right after it happened, I wanted so badly to put my head in the sand, believe his %26quot;I%26#039;m sorry%26#039;s%26quot; and go home.. someone sent this to me, and since then, when visiting abuse sites I have found this on almost every one.. it gives strength to those of us who know the true meaning of the words. I was married for five years to a man who used to abuse me in similar ways. It was only by the grace of God and the help of people who shared things with me such as this, that set me free. You never really know when one tiny thing you may share with someone may change their life. Hopefully you sharing this may help someone else out there.
Here%26#039;s something else you may like to read, I found it somewhere in a doctor%26#039;s office, written by an unknown author:
The first woman was created from the rib of a man.
She was not made from his head to top him,
Nor from his feet to be trampled upon by him,
But out of his side to be equal of him,
Under his arm to be protected,
And near his heart to be loved.

I'm trying to write a novel, is this Chapter good?
Tell me if it%26#039;s good but try to keep down the criticism I%26#039;m very sensitive.
The Dreams and the Rose of Heather Dormeur
Prologue: Heather Dormeur the Angel on Earth
Heather was a young and very gracious, beautiful, and kindhearted girl. She had radiant blonde hair the glimmered in the sunlight. Her skin was lightly tanned and her eyes were gorgeous pools of water that brightened the dullest of windows. She was an intellectual girl as well, very popular and well liked by everyone. She was asked out to dates several times by every boy in her school. She also helped out at the animal center and donated to the local orphanage every week. She was just an angel that flew from heaven to bring splendor and optimism into the dreary and cruel planet known as Earth. Maybe she was, but we will never know.
Chapter 1
“Honey, wake up, wake up!” Mrs. Dormeur said with a gentle voice.
Heather woke up with a long and lethargic yawn that signified her long, deep sleep. She wasn’t a morning person at all; she referred to mornings as a guillotine that cuts off sleep and relaxation. Yet, with a reluctant sigh she got up.
“Mom, do I have to get up at six in the morning! School isn’t for another like two hours!” She said with a voice that made her seem like she was about to die a painful death. Her mother said not a word for two hours. This perplexed her.
“Mom you ready to drive me to school?”
“You’re not going to school today hon’.”
“Why today is Friday right? I also don’t recall today being a holiday, and today is supposed to clear up later today.”
“You’re not going to school because we are going to a funeral today.”
“Whose funeral is it?”
The room was silent for a few minutes, and Mrs. Dormeur started to cry her eyes out, and with eyes filled with tears and her voice gasping for air. She said “Your father’s funeral.” Heather’s heart fell, it seemed like it wasn’t a heart, just an empty black hole with nothing but pain, fear, and gloom trapped inside.
Heather didn’t believe this was true. Her mom had taken acting classes, and she had seen her act she was quite exceptional. “Okay mom nice trick but I don’t believe you.” She said with a skeptical tone. “It’s true Heather, its true.” She said still sobbing. “He never came home last night, I got a call from the police yesterday night saying that he had died when a careless driver crashed into him making him swirl off the highway and fall into the river and he drowned…” Heather was in absolute shock. She couldn’t hold back the tears and she sobbed and mourned the loss of her dad. Never did she think this would happen. With frail and sorrowful hearts they got in the car after on a stormy morning in April. The road seemed like an interminable, for the drive was dull and the day was a drowsy one in which someone could just fall asleep and dream…
Heather had found herself in a cell with bright and vivid images of her father, these pictures showed all their good times together, at the bake sale in 4th grade. There was also a picture of him teaching her how to swim when she was four. The picture of him teaching her how to ride a bike was also there. So many pictures from her younger years and they all made her heart fill with bliss yet suddenly they spontaneously combusted into small sparkling specks of the pictures. Heather cried once this had happened, yet the pieces formed together and turned into a spectral form of what looked like her father. Heather looked up in amazement at the brilliant figure. He wore a robe of fine white silk and gold, his face was hidden behind a veil.
Heather was in total awe! She could not move a muscle in her body. With a very harsh and brutal voice he said, “Heather… my lovely Heather.” Heather couldn’t help but feel discomfort. He continued saying, “Heather I have to tell you a secret, which has condemned me from the very day you were born.” He took a small pause and silence came over the cell, it deeply disturbed Heather and gave her goose bumps. In a scream that was filled with hatred he yelled, “I hated you I always have, I always will! You were such a burden to grow up. Always asking questions and wanting to learn things! It annoyed and tortured me in the very pit of my soul! Yet that is not why I loathed you.” Heather was completely paralyzed. He continued “I was thinking of killing you at the peak of your life. I had planned to right after the day of my death!” He carefully lifted his veil and under it was a blue and lifeless face filled with anger and rage. “I had died because god protected you; god loved you and hated me that is why I loathed you because you were too perfect too much of an angel. I could see it I our eyes the day you were born.”
The cells just shattered into darkness. Heather ran while all the memories of her dad, which were all around her, were being consumed by the encroaching darkness. Heather’s father yelled, “You can not escape death! Oh no never can you! I wish I could’ve ended your life but the cruel tortures of humanity and life will devour your being and turn it into nothing! NOTHING!” The darkness was coming for her catching up… When suddenly she heard a voice…
“Heather Dormeur! Wake up! Wake up we’re here!”
Heather woke up with her eyes wide open and a face that looked bleak and pale.
“Honey are you okay?” Mrs. Dormeur asked.
“Ya mom I’m okay I just had this nightmare.” Heather said with a somnolent and a slightly fearful voice.
“You sure, your face is really pale and…”
“Don’t worry mom, I just got a little car sick… That’s all”
“Okay then lets go get ready in the bathroom”
Heather was thought about the dream she had of her father, she was very confused and a stormy cloud of melancholy, hatred, and guilt came over her. She had never thought her father had that of her this way.
As she got out of the she had noticed that they were at a very old cemetery. The tombstones were covered in this grotesque mold that had grown and the stones looked like mounds of pebbles glued together. The dirt was more like sand, to the touch it was very soft to the touch but very hard to grab.
She had entered the convenience store on the other side of the street after seeing where the funeral would take place. She disliked wearing mourning outfits just for the fact that they were only back and so sad to look at, a whole group would just make her cry at the spot.
She went back to the cemetery and saw that all of the family on her dad’s side was there. There many that looked depressed naturally, stressed out, there were some plump and slender ones they looked like a very odd bunch of people who you would never guess them to be related. Heather was not paying attention to them though, her mother was greeting them, and she could not help but only look at a picture of her father and feel a lot of displeasure, hatred and love for the man.
As she was walking in the funeral service which was in a beautiful garden in the very back of the garden, it was the exact opposite of the cemetery for it flourished with beauty and liveliness, and was trimmed with beautiful flowers such as petunias daffodils and a variety of roses and in the very distant corner there was this pitch black rose in which stuck out but with its distant location no one had noticed, except for Heather.
This rose seemed to have been grown in hell for its stem was withered brown and yet the flower itself didn’t fall. The petals were twisted and deformed and there were only about 13 petals and they each had a taint of red on them. The withered stem had exactly 666 miniature thorns which Heather was shocked when she saw it. It was also quite tall and it’s fragrant smelled of a rotting lamb carcass. This rose had an ominous feeling about it, it left the atmosphere around it filled with discomfort, depression, guilt, envy, and other emotions that made a heart blemish its state of contentment. Heather marveled by this mysterious black rose decided it to pick it from the spot and keep it in her coat.
A microphone had gone on and old man who looked like the Pope with
black lustrous said. ”We are gathered here today to mourn the loss of Lukas
Derek Dormeur.” Everyone there turned to a podium in which the man was talking. “Does anybody have a few words to say?” He asked. Mrs. Dormeur went up to the podium and said, “My husband was a great man who lived life without any regrets. He loved everyone he has ever known and showed us what he could do, what his dreams were, he inspired us with persevering to the end and teaching us great lessons about life and how to reach happiness and to maintain it.” Mrs. Dormeur then just crying after the period, she looked like she lost something precious to her, she lost her love and her soul mate.
Heather felt that all she said about him was true but it was merely a curtain covering the devil that stayed sanctioned behind a form of what seemed to be her caring father. It was all a cover-up he was a man whose life had been driven by killing those chosen by god to have a life of perfection. She could not help feel the same emotions she felt earlier, she was confused on why she felt like this. Heather was an age that would be ready to be released into the world, she didn’t understand, she was feeling a mixture of pain, sorrow, guilt, and detestation, while the body was put in the soil to rest forevermore.
After the service there was some food under a tent of smooth silken fabric. It had pervaded throughout the entire cemetery and the entire area was under a veil of light. Heather in her state of depression and rage could not help but release it. She pushed tables on to the ground smashed glass plates and stomped the food. She ripped off the veil and took a lighter from a man who was smoking outside and burned the entire veil. Finally, Heather had dug up her father grave with her bare hands and burned coffin and his body was burned right there. People panicked as the veil was falling down in flames. Heather just ran, ran as far as she possibly could away from the giant pile of flames in which people were trapped under.
She heard screams and cries for help, but Heather could not but just stare and think of the thought that the demon which was her father was exterminated forever, and the memory of him will be long forgotten. She could not help but laugh a maniacal laugh that plagued the air with death. Heather knew this was arson, genocide and many more crimes so she kept running after that brief pause. She never looked back and she just kept running to a future that was untold.
I%26#039;m trying to write a novel, is this Chapter good?
It%26#039;s alright in premise but in execution you need a little work. Learn to break large portions into smaller paragraphs to avoid the %26quot;WALL OF TEXT (tm)%26quot; effect and at the very beginning, your description kind of throws Heather in your face too fast.
Now what I%26#039;ve heard in writing is, %26quot;Don%26#039;t tell the reader, SHOW the reader%26quot;. Don%26#039;t start it off just describing Heather%26#039;s looks and life off the bat. Start it off in the middle of a dialogue or monologue, as if describing what you see happening in the beginning of a movie, or maybe having Heather looking back at the past and recounting her tale and ending this narration at the point where she %26quot;never looks back and keeps running toward her untold future%26quot;.
Describe her in bits and pieces scattered between storyline and if anything you don%26#039;t even have to describe her at all. Sometimes the readers enjoy having a character they can form their own description of. Try reading more published novels and take notes on how their characters are introduced and just how long it takes to form the *Author%26#039;s* picture in your mind in contrary to how you form your idea of what the character looks like.
Its hard for me to explain but you%26#039;ll see that the %26quot;famous%26quot; authors and %26quot;legends%26quot; don%26#039;t describe the character head to toe in the opening paragraph and drop little hints as the actions unfold like midway through a stressful dialogue, %26quot;Zack gave an exhasperated sigh as he ran his fingers through short, peppery grey locks%26quot;... and maybe a little while later in a whole different scene where he%26#039;s talking to a girl who loves him and the narration goes, %26quot;Amanda couldn%26#039;t stop gazing at the man%26#039;s amber eyes-- no one but she would ever be so mesmerized and taken by such simple radiance.%26quot;
Good luck! Writing%26#039;s a fun art! I hope I helped a bit!
Reply:wow...im stunned,
keep it up and let me know when it turns to a film :)
Reply:It has the potential to be good but you haven%26#039;t quite pulled it off yet. It%26#039;s too stilted and awkward, the character interaction is very cold and disjointed. There%26#039;s a lot to critique here but I%26#039;d tend to agree with the answer above me (or at least, it was above me when I started typing).
My first reaction as a reader to seeing this girl who gives to charities and is perfect and everyone wants or loves her, is that I want to watch her fall on her face. It seems too good to be true, and I think the funeral is a nice thing to segway into early on. However, you really would benefit as a writer from slowing down enough to be in the moment with your writing instead of running past. You need to feel every part of what%26#039;s going on, and if you did that you%26#039;d see the use of cliches and abstractions are unappealing. Such as %26quot;she couldn%26#039;t help but feel discomforted.%26quot; Her dad is dead, of course she%26#039;s discomforted, but then that doesn%26#039;t really cover it, does it? She%26#039;s chocking, she can feel the vomit raising in her neck, burning as an invisible force strangles her, she can hear the thumping of her heart pumping blood faster and faster into her skull etc.
Maybe that%26#039;s overdoing it but it%26#039;s just an example. I hope you don%26#039;t take this harshly, I%26#039;m not saying it%26#039;s bad. In fact, I rather like where it%26#039;s headed. I just am not the type to say %26quot;It%26#039;s awesome!%26quot; and leave it at that. I may say it%26#039;s awesome, but I%26#039;ll give you reasons why and some opinions on how to improve. Take it for what you want, I%26#039;m not published either, save for the newspaper, so if any of what I%26#039;ve said makes sense then keep it in mind, if not no worries.
Best of luck.
Reply:I think you%26#039;ve got a great idea for a book. Lots of action and suspense. You may want to consider a course in creative writing to help organize your thoughts and brush up on your grammer. I%26#039;m thinking of taking one myself. Good luck.
Reply:I think you have a good start and a decent story line, but if you really want to build on it, you will need to fix some of the details and rethink a few ideas.
All in all a great start and I would love to hear the rest and/or help you edit it. It takes a lot of work to write a good story, and I think you are headed in the right direction.
Reply:Well, firstly, I%26#039;d say to develop your character more. The flawless angel going to burning a dead body is quite interesting, but perhaps there should be more hints at the beginning, besides just a dream that propels her to do so.
Also, sometimes, looks, dates, and popularity aren%26#039;t enough to describe an angel. There%26#039;s a little superficiality in her. If she is %26quot;popular%26quot;, is she biased or unbiased? Will she help the %26quot;popular%26quot; student, or will she also help the %26quot;unpopular%26quot; student? Does she turn down the dates that she frequently gets? Or does she accept them? If she accepts them, does she ever fall into conflicts with dating previous boyfriends? Does she have any particular hobbies, anything that fascinates her? Develop her. I%26#039;d also suggest to %26#039;suggest%26#039; that she%26#039;s an angel. The way an angel interacts with others is different than, say, how a bitter widow interacts with others. The way she dresses, the way she thinks.
She also seemed rather %26quot;whiny%26quot; in the beginning. I was a little surprised that she objected to waking up early. Her mom keeping mum for two hours, then popping the statement, might signify that she thinks her daughter isn%26#039;t strong enough to handle death until she%26#039;s fully awake. How her father treated her when she was alive seems very good, as she did not seem to have any problems as the angel. This is slightly confusing as she decided to burn the body. Moving on. We are first introduced to Heather when you describe her. Maybe you want to keep this description in your character%26#039;s personality? It seems that a novel might want to start off with a hook or a brilliant, vivid description of a typical day in the angel%26#039;s life. She appears as a Mary Sue, which may be slightly irritating to some readers.
When Heather first hears of her father%26#039;s death, you could make it a bit more apparent that she feels a foreboding in her heart. Pain, gloom, etc. certainly can be felt at a funeral. You could also extend Heather%26#039;s reaction. She does experience absolute shock, but does she experience hysteria? Hallucinations? Or does she simply begin to grieve, moving on past the initial blow? Does she feel overwhelmed? Does she want to lash out at her mother? Does her mother console her? However, you also say that she mourns. Absolute shock + mourning are sometimes days apart. ^^;;

%26quot;Heather was thought about the dream she had of her father, she was very confused and a stormy cloud of melancholy, hatred, and guilt came over her.%26quot; This sentence is very much like this one: %26quot;Heather’s heart fell, it seemed like it wasn’t a heart, just an empty black hole with nothing but pain, fear, and gloom trapped inside.%26quot; It simply lists what she feels. It seems these are pretty defined, solid, and conclusive feelings, having arrived to the conlusion that she hates her father. Could you perhaps expand on this?
How does she count 666 thorns, by the way? I%26#039;m curious; I understand the connection between the devil date, though.
Finally, Heather had dug up her father grave with her bare hands and burned coffin and his body was burned right there.
How does she burn him? Does she whip out a match and set him on fire? I wonder if the attendants of the funeral are shocked as well, if she has the strength to dig out a coffin. That would make a very dramatic, tragic scene if there were some wild or maniac sense/feelings described.
Also, did she suspect that he was the devil in any way, or was he a great actor?
Overall, it%26#039;s a good plotline and interesting prelude. I think a major thing you%26#039;re missing is details, though not of Heather herself. Sorry for all the crits, as they seemed to be rough spots in an otherwise decent chapter. The use of adjectives and verbs is rather superior and adds a very nice touch. Just a few thoughts of mine; good luck with your novel! I%26#039;m awaiting her future!

Its hard for me to explain but you%26#039;ll see that the %26quot;famous%26quot; authors and %26quot;legends%26quot; don%26#039;t describe the character head to toe in the opening paragraph and drop little hints as the actions unfold like midway through a stressful dialogue, %26quot;Zack gave an exhasperated sigh as he ran his fingers through short, peppery grey locks%26quot;... and maybe a little while later in a whole different scene where he%26#039;s talking to a girl who loves him and the narration goes, %26quot;Amanda couldn%26#039;t stop gazing at the man%26#039;s amber eyes-- no one but she would ever be so mesmerized and taken by such simple radiance.%26quot;
She also seems to be on excellent terms with her mother. However, the way she suddenly committs arson implies there are underlying problems beneath her angel exterior. Perhaps hint at them more at the beginning? How she believed her dream to be truth also seemed rather strange.

Sorry for all the crits, as they seemed to be rough spots in an otherwise decent chapter. The use of adjectives and verbs is rather superior and adds a very nice touch. Just a few thoughts of mine; good luck with your novel! I%26#039;m awaiting her future!
Reply:wow i say it%26#039;s beautiful keep writing please!

I got flowers today, it wasn%26#039;t my birthday or any other special day.
We had our first argument last night,
And he said a lot of cruel things that really hurt me.
I know he is sorry and didn%26#039;t mean the things he said
Because he sent me flowers today.
It wasn%26#039;t our anniversary or any other special day.
Last night, he threw me into a wall and started to choke me.
It seemed like a nightmare.
I couldn%26#039;t believe it was real.
I woke up this morning sore and bruised all over.
I know he must be sorry
Because he sent me flowers today.
I got flowers today, and it wasn%26#039;t Mother%26#039;s day or any other special
day.
Last night he beat me up again.
And it was much worse than all the other times.
If I leave him, what will I do?
How will I take care of my kids?
What about money?
I%26#039;m afraid of him and scared to leave.
But I know he must be sorry
Because he sent me flowers today.
I got flowers today. Today was a very special day.
It was the day of my funeral.
Last night, he finally killed me.
He beat me to death.
If only I had gathered enough courage and strength to leave him,
I would not have gotten flowers today.

What do I do for my boss who his mother just passed away?
OK so my boss is SUPER cool! We work in Phoenix and his family is out in Fresno California. He is there now dealing with the matter of her passing and following out her last wishes. He will be back to work sometime next week and I feel as though I should do something for him. He seems so sad even through email and that is so not him. I want to reach out and just hug him, would that be wrong? Should I get a card no flowers of course hes a man and its not his funeral but I feel now a days a card my be concidered ok at the time and just a bothersome after the fact and he is back here moving on with his life again. If any of you have had this situation or anything like it and can give me some advice I would really appreciate it. I want him to feel a little bit better when he is here next week but I dont want to push it on him like a bomb or anything.
PLEASE help me out here!!!
What do I do for my boss who his mother just passed away?
You could send a Dish garden, Fruit basket, Fresh cut flowers...and they all could include a card offering your condolences. If the funeral has already passed, go with the dish garden if it will be sent to the office. The fresh flowers are appropriate for the funeral. The fruit basket to the home.
Reply:Since it%26#039;s your boss really the only right thing would be a card. Anything else can seem a little odd. Really you should have sent flowers to the funeral, and then give him a sympathy card when he gets back. You can get a nice arrangement for pretty cheap well cheap meaning about $50 or so. If the flowers are too costly for you then just stick with the card and write a little note in there saying how sorry you are and if there%26#039;s anything you can do let you know. Good luck and I%26#039;m sorry to hear about his loss.
Reply:You and an group of co-workers have a nice plant waiting on his desk when he returns, and tell him in a nice card that you are all thinking of him, and very sorry for the loss of his Mother.
Reply:just give your sympathy or condolence.
Reply:What you do for your boss is to do your job super well and do not let him come back to an unorganized mess. By the time he is back he will be anxious to get back to business. Have everything ship shape for his return. If you have been emailing him, he already knows you feel bad for his loss. Do not get all mushy! And do not hug him! Simply say%26quot;It is good to have you back%26quot;.
Reply:Always talk nicely your boss, if there%26#039;s any problem at the work site that your boss should know about you should say it in a soft way. Go to his mothers funeral, that will work
Reply:get him the %26quot;it sucks that your moms dead card%26quot;
Reply:A single lovely flower in a small vase along with a suitable card would show him that you respectfully are showing your sympathy. Men like to receive flowers under certain circumstances and providing they are not too feminine.
Reply:a hug would be nice along with an I%26#039;m so sorry for your loss but if you have not missed the funereal send a plant to it with all your sympathy you may also let him know that you are always there if he just needs to talk completely confidential of course some time we all need to blow of steam after something like this good luck

What d'you think about this poem???
On top of Old Smokey
All covered in snow
I shot my old teacher
I shot her with pleasure,
I shot her with pride.
I couldn%26#039;t have missed her,
She was 50ft wide.
I went to her funeral,
I went to her grave.
Instead of throwing flowers,
I threw a grenade.
What d%26#039;you think about this poem???
Yours is good but why is there no punctuation in the first verse? Anyway, as I am a fat, ex-teacher I prefer this:
At the front of the classroom,
All covered in chalk,
I smacked one my pupils.
She was such a dork.
I whacked her with pleasure.
I whacked her with pride.
I wouldn%26#039;t have missed her.
Oh my, how she cried.
She told the headmaster.
He shouted at me.
He said %26quot;Well Done there.%26quot;
And we both danced with glee.
Jenn, I hope you take this in the spirit in which it was intended.

Elvis alive?
The only time I feel alive... is when I%26#039;m in front of my audience, my people. That%26#039;s the only time I really feel like I%26#039;m human.%26quot;
%26quot;Long after I%26#039;m gone, what I did today will be heard by someone. I just want them to get the best of what I had.%26quot; (Elvis Presley)
Is Elvis Alive ?
There are many reasons to believe that Elvis Presley is dead. When the only arguments to believe otherwise come from crazed fans and supermarket tabloids, it is easy to dismiss the possibility that Elvis is still among us. However, the circumstances surrounding Elvis%26#039; alleged death are quite mysterious and beg closer attention. As it turns out, there are many concrete reasons to believe that Elvis is still alive.
The Gravesite.
Elvis%26#039; name is misspelled on his headstone. Elvis%26#039; full name is Elvis Aron Presley, but on his grave his middle name is spelled incorrectly with two a%26#039;s. His father would not have let this happen. When Elvis was born, his name was misspelled on his birth certificate, and his father went to great lengths to get it put right. The unique spelling of Elvis%26#039; name was important to his family.
Elvis%26#039; current %26quot;resting place%26quot; is in between his father and his grandmother and not next to his mother where he had adamantly requested. It is doubtful that the people close to him would allow these things to happen. Elvis is a superstitious man, enough so that he wouldn%26#039;t tempt fate by putting his real name on a tombstone, or violate the ground next to his mother until he was ready to be placed there for good.
Death Certificate.
Elvis was very vain, and he was embarrassed about his recent weight gain, an astonishing 50 pounds in the month before his so-called death. Even though he weighed about 250 pounds at the time of his %26quot;death,%26quot; his death certificate lists him at a spry 170 pounds. The original death certificate disappeared, and the current death certificate is dated two months after his alleged death.
The Wax Body Theory.
This argument is very convincing when the facts are considered. Elvis%26#039; coffin required several pall bearers because it weighed 900 pounds. Attendants of the funeral reported that the air around the coffin was rather cool. It is suspected that the coffin contained an air conditioning unit to keep a wax body cool, a wax body that was a replica of Elvis designed to fool funeral-goers. And how did the Presley family get a 900 pound, custom made coffin ready for a funeral that was held on the day after his death? It takes a lot of time to build such an elaborate coffin.
And why was the funeral so quickly? Some say that the immediacy was intended to make it as difficult as possible for the people who were Elvis%26#039; biggest fans to attend the proceedings. It could be a concern that they might recognize the flaws in the wax replica.
Elvis was an 8th degree black belt whose hands were rough with calluses, yet the body in the coffin had hands that were soft and pudgy. The body in the coffin had a pug nose and arched eyebrows {unlike Elvis} and most importantly, one of the sideburns on the %26quot;corpse%26quot; was loose and falling off. A hairdresser later reported gluing the sideburn back on the body.
Unusual Behavior.
Two hours after Elvis%26#039; death was announced publicly, a man who reportedly looked remarkably like Elvis purchased a ticket for Buenos Aeries, paid in cash, and used the name John Burrows: the same name Elvis had used as an alias several times before.
Elvis had a few books that were considered to be his most prized possessions. He had a bible, several pharmaceutical books, books on death, and most importantly Chiro%26#039;s Book of Numbers and The Autobiography of Yogi which I will explain more about later. After Elvis%26#039;s death was announced, these books disappeared and were never recovered.
In the weeks preceding his alleged death, Elvis%26#039; actions were not those of a man who was about to embark on an extensive US tour. He ordered no new suits despite having gained 50 pounds since his last tour, and he bid %26quot;adios%26quot; at his last show in Hawaii. He had never done this before. Adios, like the French adieu, has the significance of being a final good-bye as opposed to an %26quot;I%26#039;ll be seeing you on my next tour%26quot; kind of good-bye.
Others were intrigued by Elvis%26#039; decision to sign a lucrative TV deal with NBC that would cover the tour. It was unprecedented for a network to pay such a large amount up front, in cash, for such a deal. Many wonder why Elvis even agreed to the deal since his vanity discouraged him from making public appearances due to his weight gain.
RCA showed uncanny and unbelievable foresight by mass producing millions of Elvis%26#039; current and previous recordings and merchandise. This is standard practice for an act that is about to go on tour, but the numbers in this case were beyond reasonable expectations. The announcement of Elvis%26#039; death caused record sales to skyrocket.
Elvis did other unusual things that created suspicion. First, he fired several employees that he had relied upon for a long time. Also, two days before his alleged death, Elvis telephoned a friend of his named Miss Foster. He told her that he wasn%26#039;t planning on going on the upcoming tour. She asked him if he had canceled it, and he said that he had not. When she asked if he was ill, he said that he was fine, and that she should not ask any more questions or tell anyone anything, and that she should not believe anything she read. He told her that his troubles would all soon be over, and that he would call her in a few weeks. The author of Elvis Where Are You? writes that Miss Foster took a polygraph test regarding this story, and that she was not lying.
The day after Elvis%26#039; alleged death, a woman named Lucy De Barbon, a former lover of Elvis, received a single rose in the mail. The card indicated that the flower was from %26quot;El Lancelot.%26quot; This had been her pet name for Elvis, and it was a name that no one else knew. Flowers can%26#039;t be sent from beyond the grave. This was Elvis%26#039; way of letting her know that he was not dead, even though he didn%26#039;t want to be found.
Chiro%26#039;s Book of Numbers.
Elvis had a fascination with numerology, an interest he fed by reading Chiro%26#039;s Book of Numbers. The theory that Elvis orchestrated his death is further supported when considering the significance of the date of his alleged death. The date in question is August 16, 1977. By adding the numbers in the date, 8, 16, and 1977, you get 2001. This is the title of Elvis%26#039; favorite movie in which the hero plans his immortality in the bathroom. Elvis spent a considerable amount of time doing the same: planning his afterlife on the toilet.. Elvis spent so much time in the bathroom that he had his toilet converted into a reclining comfy chair. Coincidentally, the bathroom is also where Elvis%26#039; body was reportedly found.
Given Elvis%26#039; religious beliefs, he had a fascination with things that come in threes, for example, father, son, and holy ghost. The sum of the digits from his favorite film (2+0+0+1) is three. Let%26#039;s consider the triad of the repetition of the number 24. 2001 (favorite film) less 1977 (year of death) is 24. The two numbers from the day of death (8/16) when added up equal 24. The sum of the digits in the year of death (1+9+7+7) also equals 24. That is 3 occurrences of the number 24 which is divisible by 3, and when divided by three the result, 8 has a perfect cubed root (2x2x2=8).
Elvis loved numerology, and when you consider the numeric significance of the date of his alleged death, it is clear that if indeed he did plan to fake his death, he could not have chosen a better date.
Reason
Elvis had many reasons to fake his death. It has been said that Elvis%26#039; life was in danger. He had recently lost $10,000,000 in an airplane/real estate deal with a California based organization called the %26quot;Fraternity%26quot; that had links to the Mafia. It is speculated that he corroborated with the government to expose the organized crime ring in exchange for protection, perhaps in the form of a new life and identity compliments of the Witness Protection Program.
Elvis was a prisoner of his own fame. He had many other reasons to leave his life behind. Because of his incredible popularity he recieved several death threats, and he was concerned about the safety of his ex-wife and daughter. Sometimes when he wanted to leave Graceland he would send look-alikes out to distract would be followers. Elvis was also known to ride in the trunk of someone else%26#039;s car to avoid being seen. Once, when he fell ill in Las Vegas, he couldn%26#039;t get proper medical attention because the hospital was overwhelmed by fans.
At the time of his alleged death, Elvis thought he was nearing the end of his career. He saw his self as 42 with greying hair, overweight, and he thought his voice was starting to weaken,. He was going down hill, and he was too proud to go out with a whimper. He would never want his fans to see him in such an unhealthy condition.
Elvis had shown a fascination with death on several occasions. In the days leading up to his alleged death he was reported to have visited funeral homes at odd hours of the night with close friends. Was he doing research? Elvis once faked his death by setting up an elaborate shooting in which a would be killer fired blanks at Elvis who had a blood pack which he discharged. It was Elvis%26#039; intention to see how the people closest to him would react to his death. Perhaps what he learned convinced him to do it for real.
Finally, one of Elvis%26#039; favorite books is the spiritual Autobiography of Yogi. One of the central themes of this book is the relinquishing of one%26#039;s wealth and earthly possessions to achieve spiritual oneness. Elvis could do this, as well as address his other concerns of sanity and safety by faking his death and living in exile.
Means.
Elvis had the means to fake his own death. He is accused of destroying himself with drugs. In reality, Elvis was a pharmaceutical expert. He took a lot of drugs, but he knew what he was doing and was extremely careful. He knew what drugs he could self-administer to create a deathlike state. Also Elvis%26#039; experience with the martial arts was such that he could slow his heart rate and breathing in order to feign death.
Elvis%26#039; manager, Colonel Tom Parker, had once created a new identity for himself. He came to America as an illegal immigrant from Holland, but through various connections managed to create a new identity complete with a passport, birth certificate, drivers license, and social security number. He would have known how to give Elvis a second life.
Aswell as Elvis%26#039; ties to the government through his testimony against the %26quot;Fraternity%26quot;, Elvis was known to interact with the President of the United States. He was reported in government documents to use the name John Burrows as an alias when he wanted to travel. Some people believe that Elvis worked for the government as a drug agent. He did, after all have extensive contact with many people in the music business who, as we know, tend to dabble in illegal substances. And, of course, we must allow that Elvis%26#039; connections to the government gave him access to the Witness Protection Program. If they can turn the Simpsons into the Thompsons, they can relocate anybody.
Orion?
Many believe that Elvis couldn%26#039;t have given up performing completely. Just imagine, after a while the desire to perform would grow once he started his life in exile. The story of Orion supports the theory that Elvis attempted a secret comeback.
Shortly after Elvis%26#039; alleged death, a masked singer by the name of Orion emerged on the scene. He was big like Elvis, and he sang just like Elvis. Because of the mask no one could tell his true identity. One fan described seeing Orion from near the stage. She claims that Orion left the stage between songs, and when he appeared moments later the sweat was gone from his armpits and back and she thought that his costume looked slightly different. After the song he left the stage, and the original Orion returned.
Another fan described how she rushed into a tour bus at an Orion show only to see two Orions in the back of the bus. She claimed that one ducked into the bathroom before she could get a good look at him, but he appeared to look like Elvis Presley.
What%26#039;s even more remarkable is the fictional story called Orion that was written by Gail Brewer-Georgio about a legendary performer who had several identities and wanted to fake his death. The story was written and submitted to the William Morris Agency for publication consideration after Elvis%26#039; alleged death and before the real Orion ever performed. As it turns out, there are many ways in which the real Orion mimicked the events as described in the book. For example, the performers%26#039; managers had the same name. Also, without knowing it, Brewer-Georgio wrote of events in Orion that had actually taken place in Elvis%26#039; life. It was a case of life imitating art.
Picking up the Pieces.
In 1981, 20/20 did an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged death of Elvis Presley. The investigative report was very convincing. Oddly enough, within two weeks of the report, the singer, Orion, disappeared and was never heard from again. The book, Orion disappeared from shelves across the country. It had been recalled by the publisher which was associated with the William Morris Agency. Incidentally, the William Morris Agency is the same agency that represented Elvis.
It seems that Elvis Presley is worth more dead than alive. By faking his death and relocating with a new identity he is safe from his fans and the %26quot;Fraternity%26quot;, the government can make a solid case against the organized crime ring, and RCA, Elvis%26#039; family, and Elvis%26#039; management can all reap immense financial benefits from the attention. That is... except for one benefit....after nearly 25 years no one has collected on his life insurance policy.
Why ?????
During his last concert tour in 1977, Elvis spoke of %26quot;not looking good tonight%26quot;, but, he would look good in his coffin. He made comments of being tired of living as he was and how it was going to change. He told of how he would like to be just himself instead of an %26quot;image%26quot;.
On August 16th 1977, at 8:00 A.M., Elvis told Ginger Alden that he was going into the bathroom to read. (This bathroom/lounge had it%26#039;s own back entrance.) For the next six hours no one saw him. Elvis signed for a special delivery letter at 9:30 A.M. At 2:00 P.M. Ginger Alden found the apparent body of Elvis lying on the floor in front of his chair, where he had been reading. She called Al Strada who in turn called Joe Esposito. George Nichopoulous (aka Dr. Nick) was then telephoned. Joe called the fire department, unit 6. The ambulance arrived at Graceland at 2:33 P.M. Paramedics administered CPR, despite rigor mortis. The body was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital at 2:48 P.M. By 3:00 P.M. Elvis%26#039; family members and friends were informed of his %26quot;death%26quot;. Public announcement was given at 3:30 P.M.
August 17th, the body was brought back to Graceland for family viewing. The public viewing was from 3:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. On August 18th,1977. Tennesse Governor Ray Blanton ordered flags to be flown at half-mast for the duration of the funeral procession. At midday the Graceland gates swung open, a white Cadillac hurse rolled through them, followed by sixteen white Cadillac limousines.
QUESTIONS BEGIN
How could it take twenty minutes for paramedics to drive sixteen blocks to Graceland if the call came in at 2:33 P.M.? The Medical Examiner%26#039;s Report states that the body was found with rigor mortis, while the police report states %26quot;unconcious%26quot;. Why would anyone try to give CPR to a rigor mortised body ? The ME report listed the body as weighing 80 pounds lighter then Elvis%26#039; actual weight. How could Elvis have passed a physical exam just prior to August 16th if his heart was so enlarged ? How could he have played raquetball for several hours on August 16th, just before his %26quot;death%26quot; ?
ABC%26#039;s 1979 program on the cover up of Elvis%26#039; death stated that all the stomach contents were destroyed. Bill Burkin in his book Elvis World states that officials at Babtist Memorial Hospital had assured him that the stomach contents had been shipped to a California lab to be examined and then on to a lab in Utah, and then ? There are rumors of Elvis%26#039; %26quot;death%26quot; being caused by a heart attack, drug overdose, suffocation in carpeting, suicide and even cancer ! Persons in attendance at Graceland at the time of %26quot;death%26quot; don%26#039;t agree on the color of pajamas Elvis was wearing or the posistion of the body.
Why did Vernon ask many people NOT to attend the funeral but to come a week later ? Why did Vernon refuse to accept the flag which is usually given to dead war veterans ? Why didn%26#039;t Elvis have any new jumpsuits made during 1977 ? The handwriting on the death certificate matched Elvis%26#039; own writing !
Elvis was very aware of which presribed drugs did not mix well with others. Elvis had glaucoma, and Dexedrine, a drug not to be taken with that condition, was listed as being in his system. Who would prescribe it and why would he take it ? Whose body was autopsied ? Funeral homes don%26#039;t usually keep solid copper coffins in stock. These coffins weigh in the area of 300 pounds and usually take two months to receive once ordered. This coffin seemed to have been ready.
Monte Nicholson, a nineteen year veteran of the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department, wrote a novel called The Presley Arrangement. This novel tells the story of a body that is autopsied, a man resembling Elvis. The man had died of cancer. The body is later returned for private burial, to the man%26#039;s own family. The man%26#039;s family are paid to remain silent about the incident. Nicholson explains a government connection. In a 1989 radio interview Nicholson said that even if he knew there was an FBI connection and was told not to say anything, he COULD NOT say. Nicholson also claimed that if he knew the answer to the question, and says he does, he will not disclose his knowledge. He said that if Elvis is alive that his book is pretty close to the truth of what REALLY happened.
Was Elvis a DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) agent ? Elvis can be seen wearing a DEA Staff jacket in several photographs, including one taken in June of 1977, approximately six weeks before his %26quot;death%26quot;. Also Elvis was wearing a jogging suit with the DEA logo on it during the early morning hours of August 16th 1977.
When Elvis met with President Richard Nixon he said he had been %26quot;studying%26quot; the drug culture for over 10 years, he could get into any culture group and be accepted. Elvis said he had gotten alot from the country and he wanted to repay in some way. It would have been a dangerous job and one that an entertainer such as Elvis would not have HAD to do unless he chose to. Many DEA agents pose as %26quot;drug users%26quot; and %26quot;pushers%26quot; in their undercover work. Elvis could get to anyone if he appeared to be a %26quot;user%26quot;. In the book Elvis: What Happened? one of the guys wondered if Elvis was ever as whacked out as he seemed to be. Maybe he is a %26quot;great%26quot; actor after all. Perhaps he deserves an %26quot;Oscar%26quot;.
Death threats were issued against Elvis and his family. Those who had leveled those threats had actually broken into Graceland. At times, the FBI were called. Deputy Narcotics Director John Finlator arranged for Elvis to come to his office under the name of John Burrows. Finlator didn%26#039;t want to give Elvis a badge but the President reversed the decision.
On December 21st of 1970, Elvis met with President Richard Nixon in the oval office, Washington, D.C. Elvis had written a letter requesting a meeting and expressed his concerns about the drug culture, hippie elements, the SDS and other groups who were against the establishment. When Finlator finally gave Elvis the badge and promised to issue him consultant credentials, Elvis was overcome with emotion and his eyes became misty. Ten days later he met with the FBI. On the same day, President Nixon wrote Elvis a thank you. Elvis wrote to the President and said, %26quot;I can and will do more good, if I were made a Federal Agent at large, and I will help out by doing it my way.%26quot;
Elvis was known to be in his bedroom for weeks, seeing no one. (There was a back staircase at Graceland.) Elvis could sneak out whenever he needed to.
Department of the Treasury-Bob Pritchett says that during the years of %26#039;74, %26#039;75, and %26#039;76 %26quot;Mr. Presley provided one of our undercover agents, who was a musician, a job cover. Undercover agents appear to have other occupations. None of Elvis%26#039; group of friends knew of this agent and the role he played in setting up his cover. Since he had an undercover agent in his group from %26#039;74-%26#039;76, when did he find time to use drugs himself? Elvis was very good at keeping secrets and living a %26quot;double life%26quot;.
Elvis spoke with President Carter two weeks before his death. It involved aid to a friend. On August 16, 1977, President Carter issued this tribute:
%26quot;Elvis Presley%26#039;s death deprives our country of a part of itself. He was unique and irreplaceable. More than twenty years ago he burst upon the scene with an impact that was unprecedented and will probably never be equaled. His music and his personality, fusing the styles of white country and black rhythm and blues, permanently changed the face of American popular culture. His following was immense and he was a symbol of good humor of his country.%26quot;
This was a formal statement, when a celebrity%26#039;s death is usually only commented on. He had spoken to Nixon and Carter both shortly before the day he died.
In the September 1988 issue of American Karate magazine, Ed Parker tells of a time when a terrorist group threatened Elvis%26#039; life to make him an example of how they could get to famous people. They threatened to plant a bomb in one of the gifts offered to Elvis at a concert. This was a threat as long as he was %26quot;alive%26quot;, and his family were targets also.
Elvis always had law enforcement officials around him. John O%26#039;Grady, who was earlier in charge of NARC Divisions of the LAPD, was one of them. He also hired Dick Grob, a former sargeant with the Palm Springs Police. He was surrounded by at least two lawmen in top security positions. Elvis was in danger. The %26quot;hoax%26quot; may have been the only way out! History will prove Elvis to be an American hero beyond being an American entertainer.
SIGHTINGS
With all the Elvis lookalikes, he could actually walk around using disguises and get away with it. Who would be looking for him anyway, when he is supposedly dead? Before 1977, there was an %26quot;Elvis lookalike, sound alike%26quot; at a Memphis theatre. Elvis put on his best %26quot;Elvis outfit%26quot;, strolled in and mingled with the clones, doing his best %26quot;Hey, baby%26quot;. Afterwards, he came back to Graceland laughing. He tried out and lost!
Elvis and his mother%26#039;s bodies were moved to the Meditation Gardens for burial, after three men tried to break into the crypt. Graceland was rezoned to permit burials at the estate. In the 1989 Orion%26#039;s %26quot;Farewell to the King%26quot;, the King says %26quot;I died once. I had to be willing to give up everything, even the will to live.%26quot; The last recording session at Graceland was The Last Farewell.
There have been many sightings at various places including Graceland. There are some escape routes at Graceland that people don%26#039;t know about.
In a syndicated newspaper across the nation on June 5, 1990, an article headlined %26quot;Elvis Lives, At Least On Census Form.%26quot; The Census Bureau reported in 1990 that Elvis returned a questionaire to the bureau office in Huntsville, Alabama. It was noticed by census workers who were screening forms for completednesss.
Late Night with Ross Shafer (August 1988) had a survey that showed that out of 30,000 people polled, approximately 84% believe Elvis is alive.
On Monday, August 22, 1988, Harold Schuitmaker, in an item of the Detroit News, said %26quot;Elvis is Alive and Living in Kalamazoo.%26quot; Schuitmaker was a well known Michigan politician and resident of Paw Paw (15 miles from Kalamazoo).
The masked singer Orion was at the McMinnville Civic Center and a fan said that she felt that the man onstage and the one who signed autographs were different people. People have reported that someone sounding like Elvis called them on the phone and some hung up because they couldn%26#039;t believe it.
A book titled Elvis: Where Are You? came out of Wilton Manors, Florida around August, 1982 under the name of Al Jefferies. The premise of the book was that Elvis hoaxed his death. Kelly Burgess, a former assistant editor and feature writer with the Detroit News, claimed to have seen Elvis in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is not living now.
In 1988, Heartbreak Hotel starred David Keith as Elvis. (The film had the support of EP Enterprises.) A soundtrack album thanked Jerry Schilling and a special thanks to J.B.
In 1987%26#039;s Robo Cop, a cop is killed, but didn%26#039;t die. He returns as Robo Cop-a superman hero. It was filmed in Michigan. During that time radio stations got calls from a man sounding like Elvis Presley. There have been lots of sightings there and it was also on his final concert tour. Is this possibly a %26quot;message%26quot; film?
March 18, 1990, an article on Robo Cop, in the Detroit News told of Robo Cop speaking to a Boys and Girls club against drugs. It was a three month long anti-drug campaign organized by the FBI, Orion Home Video of New York, and the Boys Club of America. This Robo Cop was not the same actor as in the movie-his true identity was not revealed. he was a special agent helping the FBI fight the war on drugs. His suit was bullet-proof. During filming, some people saw a man looking like an older Elvis.
In Mac and Me, a film from 1988, a young alien is lost and at the end the family drives away in an old pink Cadillac convertible. A balloon caption says %26quot;We%26#039;ll be back%26quot;. The sound track is on Curb Records, which is the same label as %26quot;Spelling on the Stone%26quot;. There were some song lyrics which were: %26quot;Tired of being myself, being different from everyone else, somehow you knew I needed your help, be my friend forever. I never found my star in the night; living my dream was far from sight.%26quot; There was a scene in the movie where Eric asks Debbie %26quot;Why didn%26#039;t you tell him that you saw him (the alien)?%26quot; She says, %26quot;Because no one would believe me.%26quot;
Elvis has become a mythic figure, and there have been frequent rumors that he is still alive. Elvis remains the single most influential and respected figure in the history of Rock music. Elvis was the first Rock/Pop singer to have a single record sell a million copies, the first to go platinum with an album in less than two weeks, the first singer to pre-sell a million records before it%26#039;s release, the first entertainer to earn a million dollars for one concert performance, and the first young, white, southern male to bring international attention to the importance of black rhythm and blues. He was the first singer to get a million dollar screen contract. He was the first music personality to have a TV performance broadcast worldwide via satellite.
In 1993, he became the first rock%26#039;n%26#039;roll star whose picture appeared on a commemorative U.S. Postal stamp (the largest stamp printing in history). Elvis is a landmark in almost everyone%26#039;s life, going back to distant memories of watching him above the waist on Ed Sullivan or hearing %26quot;Hound Dog%26quot; for the first time. His image continues to mesmerize: witness the appearance of 200 Elvis impersonators at Liberty Weekend in 1986.
There was a time when he was merely the most popular entertainer in history. He is more than that now. He is a symbol of America as recognizable as the flag. Elvis opened the %26#039;window of his soul%26#039; to his fans all over the world.
Thank you, Elvis! Remember you are always on our minds. %26quot;TCB FOREVER!

Elvis alive?
Elvis is dead. Autopsy performed. Death certificate issued. A conspiracy of the magnitude described in the article would require the cooperation of an extraordinary number of people. It defies all reasonable logic to state otherwise.
Reply:Of course he%26#039;s dead he died of constapation!!!! (which is an embarrising way to die if you ask me)
Reply:Jeez, he%26#039;s dead already. What would be the purpose of such an involved and grand hoax? It wasn%26#039;t like he needed to cheat insurance companies so his family would be provided for.
Anyway, if you like fantasies, watch %26quot;Bubba Hotep%26quot;. It is an amazing allegory on lives and what might have been with Elvis in the lead, explaining why he%26#039;s not dead. I really love it.
Reply:Yes he is dead.
You just wasted an hour of your life on this question.
I%26#039;m sorry no one told you sooner.
g-day!
Reply:Ya he is dead he had a drug, and drinking problem. One of my teachers went to most of his concerts until those bad things started happening.
Reply:I must say I do like the theories put forward here and I would like to believe hes still alive somewhere but in reality I dont think he is. Look at JFK, Marilyn Monroe and Diana whenever a celebrity who has made a big impact on the world in their lives dies, the conspiracy theorists go mad. Dont get me wrong I love conspiracy theorys cos they make me go %26#039;ooh I wonder%26#039; but so did the Da Vinci Code- I love stories that have those kinda twists and turns but that doesnt mean I believe them.
Conspiracy Theories are good because they are good stories whether they are true or not.
If Elvis is alive then he obviously wants to remain %26#039;dead%26#039; else he wouldve revealed himself. If he is really dead, end of.
Either way he will be sadly missed. Long Live The King
Reply:Of course Elvis is alive. As long as there is one heart ready to believe in him, as long as he brings a smile to one little girl, Elvis is alive!
White Teeth
On December 21st of 1970, Elvis met with President Richard Nixon in the oval office, Washington, D.C. Elvis had written a letter requesting a meeting and expressed his concerns about the drug culture, hippie elements, the SDS and other groups who were against the establishment. When Finlator finally gave Elvis the badge and promised to issue him consultant credentials, Elvis was overcome with emotion and his eyes became misty. Ten days later he met with the FBI. On the same day, President Nixon wrote Elvis a thank you. Elvis wrote to the President and said, %26quot;I can and will do more good, if I were made a Federal Agent at large, and I will help out by doing it my way.%26quot;
%26quot;Elvis Presley%26#039;s death deprives our country of a part of itself. He was unique and irreplaceable. More than twenty years ago he burst upon the scene with an impact that was unprecedented and will probably never be equaled. His music and his personality, fusing the styles of white country and black rhythm and blues, permanently changed the face of American popular culture. His following was immense and he was a symbol of good humor of his country.%26quot;
In Mac and Me, a film from 1988, a young alien is lost and at the end the family drives away in an old pink Cadillac convertible. A balloon caption says %26quot;We%26#039;ll be back%26quot;. The sound track is on Curb Records, which is the same label as %26quot;Spelling on the Stone%26quot;. There were some song lyrics which were: %26quot;Tired of being myself, being different from everyone else, somehow you knew I needed your help, be my friend forever. I never found my star in the night; living my dream was far from sight.%26quot; There was a scene in the movie where Eric asks Debbie %26quot;Why didn%26#039;t you tell him that you saw him (the alien)?%26quot; She says, %26quot;Because no one would believe me.%26quot;

Today my boss' mom died. What can I do to show i care?
I just started the job last month. My boss and I have some of the same friends, and so in turn I guess you could say we%26#039;re friends. The thing is he%26#039;s a really private person. When I talked to him yesterday he didn%26#039;t even mention his mom, he just told me what he needed me to do work wise. I know I want to send flowers, but should I say something to him? Also the funeral is out of town, would it be appropriate to go? Thank you for your help.
Today my boss%26#039; mom died. What can I do to show i care?
When my boss%26#039;s father-in-law died a few years ago, the funeral was about 45 minutes to an hour away and I did go. We did not stay too long, just long enough to shake hands and give condolences, sign the book, and drop a card in the box. We did not attend the grave-side service or the luncheon following. I also made a donation to a charity in the deceased person%26#039;s name. The boss never said anything about it (also a very private person), but his wife (daughter of the deceased person) went out of her way to be extra nice to me when we%26#039;d meet at functions.
Do something kind - pretty much anything will be acceptable, just try not to go overboard.
Reply:Considering you%26#039;ve only been on the job a short time, and your boss didn%26#039;t mention his mother%26#039;s death to you...which tells me he IS a private person....I would have to say that simply sending flowers is thoughtful and sufficient to extend your sympathy.
Reply:I would not hug him, unless you are very close with him and have hugged before. I think flowers and a card is a nice gesture. You can mention in the card that you are there for him with anything he may need from you. That will go a long way without being too pushy. If he wants to talk to you, you opened the door. If you want you can briefly tell him sorry for the loss, etc. Do not stand around though waiting for him to open up to you. He probably also does not want his employees to see him cry, or reveal his vulnerable side. He%26#039;ll want to seem stoic and unphased by this. It%26#039;s natural.
Reply:At least say something along with the card %26amp; flowers or else you may end up in an awkward situation later on.
Reply:Thank you for caring about your boss%26#039; grief...
This may be a window of opportunity (not job-wise) to improve your relationship and to show him that you care. A simple gesture such as a card (just be careful with the words--avoid things like %26quot;I know what you%26#039;re going through, etc.%26quot; or making a contribution in her memory, or your presence at her funeral may mean a great deal. If you go overboard, though, it may look like you are trying to %26quot;suck up.%26quot;
Remember that everyone expresses grief differently, so just because you make a gesture does not guarantee that he will reciprocate with glowing gratitude. However, your boss will always remember your kind gesture, no matter how small.
Have a great week. Peace...
Reply:i would say give him a card. tell him you are sorry about his loss and he and his family are in your prayers. you might want to check with your co workers, if they go then you go.
Reply:Give him a hug and tell him you are so sorry for him and are there for him if he wants to talk.
Leave it there.

Reply:Tell your boss you are sorry for his loss and tell him that everything will be okay.
flowers and a sympathy card is also a nice gesture.

Can you explain?
this awfull dream i had last night, i dreamed that i went to a funeral, it was a proper berial service with, prayers flowers, the vicor, people in mourning, but there was no coffin,
Can you explain?
Nightmares are usually the results of stress
Reply:If there was no coffin then it probably wasn%26#039;t a death you were dreaming about at all, in fact dreams usually work in opposite to what they mean. There will probably be a ceremony with a tale of happiness, people dressed up for an occasion with many guests. This could be a wedding, an engagement party or to the extreme of an official meeting of some description. Flowers can be a sign of sadness or happiness so this I think will be a happy occasion. As the months pass you may find that there is some truth behind your dream. Wait and see if there any occasion in relation to what you dreamed about.

I would go with her unless she asks you not to. Some families are more private than others and it%26#039;s nothing against you.

And know God must have heard-
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word!
I didn%26#039;t ask for wealth or fame
(I knew you wouldn%26#039;t mind)-
I asked Him to send you treasures
Of a far more lasting kind!
I asked that He%26#039;d be near you
At the start of each new day
To grant you health and blessings
And my friendship to share your way!
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small-
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all!

Reply:Support her. If the family doesn%26#039;t want anyone except themselves on the funeral, accept it. You can go to the cementary with her after some time. Just be there for her. Be patient. Let her cry or talk about her grandmother if she pleases. In such moments you don%26#039;t even have to say anything, just BE.
Reply:Be very supportive to your girlfriend, and you should go to the funereal unless she says otherwise. I know when my grandmom died my boyfriend showed up and it meant so much to me.
Reply:Flowers are a great idea but send to both the funeral home and to you girl Friend. Do as she requests, nothing more. Let her know this is a first for you and she will be not only understanding of your situation but it will stop any pre-conceived notions that you are being stand-offish. Smart kid!
Reply:be supportive of her, and be that shoulder she needs to cry on. if you really want to go to the wake and funeral, let her know again how serious you are about going. she probably wants you to go, but she%26#039;s just saying that you don%26#039;t have to go because she doesnt want to make you.
try sending her and the family flowers, and take her out on a really nice date to cheer her up. call her everyday to see how she%26#039;s doing, and listen to her.

Girlfriends grandmother died?
I would go with her unless she asks you not to. Some families are more private than others and it%26#039;s nothing against you.

Will a cemetary 'cart' be a lucrative business venture?
I%26#039;ve been to plenty of funerals lately and I%26#039;ve come up with an idea...I%26#039;d like to purchase a cart (much like a hot dog cart) and offer items such as flowers, potted plants, american flags, sympathy cards, water and other funeral related items to mourners to purchase as they grieve. They can then take these items and leave them at the final resting places! Because it will be a cart, I could wheel it all around the cemetary to the different funerals. I believe there is a HUGE market demographic with this venture...
Will a cemetary %26#039;cart%26#039; be a lucrative business venture?
I hate to rain on your parade but I don%26#039;t think that there is any market for your services. Furthermore, most cemeteries are private property and you%26#039;d have a rough time getting permission to operate such a cart. Think of it this way: If such a market existed wouldn%26#039;t the private cemetery ALREADY have a little kiosk selling these items on the way in? Finally, there is the crassness factor. How are you going to do this? Drive your little cart up to the just stopped parade of funeral cars with bells dinging and a Requiem Mass blaring over the loud speaker?
Most people going to funerals wish they were somewhere else and stopping to buy a trinket for the recently departed will not add to their pleasure.
Your idea is creative but at the same time it will be a loser.

What flower would you want laid on your casket?
And not to be anymore dramatic but if your Funeral would be a movie who would be taking the flower to your coffin and what song would play in the background as they walked up to it with flower in hand? Mine would be a White Rose and it would be carried by a loved one while Elvis Presleys%26#039; My Way was playing....
What flower would you want laid on your casket?
MOST DEFINATELY A SUNFLOWER BECAUSE THEY WERE MY GRANNY%26#039;S FAVORITE. I WOULD WANT THE SONG %26quot;YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE%26quot; (THATS WHAT SHE USED TO SING TO ME WHEN I WAS LITTLE) *OR* THATS WHAT I LOVE ABOUT SUNDAYS. BECAUSE IT%26#039;S ME %26amp; MY HUSBANDS SONG. GOD THIS QUESTION IS MAKIN ME SAD.
Reply:%26quot;Birds of Paradise%26quot; playing %26quot;the sounds of silence%26quot;

Reply:the fair flower i would prefer would be a 29 yr. old virgo beauty with dark hair and blue eyes. screaming uncontrollably that she can%26#039;t possibly live without me because of my wonderfullness, depth and tantric prowess. could happen, right? :-)
Reply:i wud want my fags on me casket !!! my song would be %26quot;i knew you were waiting %26quot; george michael and aretha franklin x.x.xx
Reply:I want Praise and Worship music playing and I do not have a loved one in mind that would love me enough to look sincere taking the flowers to my casket. However I have plenty of friends from church (I suppose they love me) If any of them bring flowers (roses, daisies, lilies) I would like them to be all peach color (my favorite)

How can I forgive and forget my Inlaws lack of compassion when my father died?
My husband was in Alaska at the time with the National Guard and he was unable to make it home for my father%26#039;s burial because he was in such a remote area. My inlaws were aware of everything that was going on and knew I was enduring a great deal of stress. My dad was under hospice care and in terrible pain, it was hard on me and my 11 and 2 year old girls. We and the inlaws were pretty close at the time in despite of their ridiculous ways and ongoing marital dramas...But to get to the point, my inlaws never even stopped by to check on me and the kids after my dad died! My mother inlaw even used the old %26#039;jury duty%26#039; excuse in response when my husband told her on the phone that my dad had died and funeral arrangements were being made. She said she%26#039;d send flowers (but never did)...I was there for their family funerals and problems and yet the response I get from them is NOTHING, then excuses, and then his mom lies about me, then downplays that she lied... What do I do? How should I feel
How can I forgive and forget my Inlaws lack of compassion when my father died?
How abandoned and hurt this must have made you feel! It seems to me that we have left behind a lot of the traditional ways of supporting those who lose a loved one. Those traditions helped people to know what to do. And, without them, a lot of people feel extremely awkward about handling the emotions surrounding a death.
Chances are, your in-laws%26#039; failure to give you the support you needed was due to their lack of comfort with your emotional state and just plain not knowing what to do or say. I%26#039;m not excusing them - when it comes to those we love, we should fight through our discomfort and at least try. But I would like you to know that it doesn%26#039;t mean they don%26#039;t care about you.
It would be nice if you could have a quiet, non-confrontational conversation with them about this. Tell them that you just want to tell them what you needed, so that they will know should something like this arise again. Explain to them that their support is important to you because they are your family. I sure hope they%26#039;re big enough to admit that they blew it. If they do, hun, you have to forgive and move on.
I%26#039;m very sorry for you loss.
Reply:That%26#039;s the nature of in-law relationships. You are family, when they want to see hubby %26amp; kids, and you%26#039;re not family when it%26#039;s about you.
Reply:Do you think that money could have been a factor? I know it doesn%26#039;t take a lot to send flowers or drop by for a visit, but sometimes people have a hard time scraping together even a couple of dollars.
If money isn%26#039;t a factor, then I%26#039;m sorry but they were pretty bad relatives. However, they are still family so you have to put it behind you. You don%26#039;t have to forget, but you do have to try to put it behind you for your sake.
I%26#039;m so sorry you lost your father. That is one of the most traumatic events you can go through in your life and your in-laws should have been there for you. I would hate for you to let your in-laws%26#039; actions make you feel worse.
Reply:First of all, I%26quot;m so sorry to hear about your terrible loss. There are no words to express my sorrow for what you are going through right now...
Well, my dear... I guess there is not much you can do or say about this situation. Yes, your in laws should have been more supportive to you, and to their grandkids as well (who of course are suffering a lot too), but that was not the case. I have inlaws who act like that as well, they simply DO NOT CARE. Some people are this way, unfortunately. But I am sure you have had the support of other people, family members, close friends and neighbors. I know it is very hard on you, but you can try concentrating on positive things, positive people that surround you. Never mind the inlaws. There is nothing you can do. You cannot make people like you. I totally sympathize with you. It makes me mad to the core that some people just don%26#039;t care, they are not sensitive of other people%26#039;s feelings. But ... sorry to be blunt (I found out the bad way too)... it is what it is. The important thing is that your husband is there for you, he was the one you married, not your inlaws. If they don%26#039;t care, oh well... move on. You are a beautiful individual who is loved by many people, I%26#039;m sure, and you totally do not depend on your laws for their love. A tip for you: the more you fuss about in laws, the more they will be there to harass you. You CANNOT let them know where your weak point is. If they know that, they will press the right bottons to make you mad and if that%26#039;s what they really want to see (you depressed, sad, mad), they will do it. Just act superior to them, never complaint about or to them. Just act neutral, no emotion (good or bad). Plain cold. Make sure your husband understands your pain about your loss, and talk to him, find comfort in him. You will be alright, you are strong.

You may have a problem with the cemetary. Its private property, and they dont allow people to sell things there. But you could always do business just outside the cemetary gates....
Reply:Susan had a much better idea. It would be tacky, and would probably anger most people, to have someone with a cart come wheeling up during their loved ones funeral.
Reply:Good Morning-
While your heart is in the right place, I personally feel this proposition would be over the top. Grieving people may be offended to see a %26quot;cart o%26#039; grief%26quot; at the grave site of their dearly departed. HOWEVER... you have an excellent idea if you alter it slightly. If you would like to put together grief baskets, or plants, flags, etc. what have you, you can always advertise at funeral homes, churches, casket, and head stone shops and offer free delivery to the grave site. Offer themes such as Military, Patriotic, Good Mother, Good Father, Sweet Child, Beloved Aunt/Uncle, Grandmother, Grandfather, the list could be endless and the more markets you open, the better you will do. You would put together things in those categories so people could order them, without the grief of having to pick things out individually. See?
Remember when it comes to business New Market Penetration is KEY. You have a good idea, start tweaking, you may be an entrepreneur yet!
Reply:People going into a cemetary have already decided if there is anything they want to leave at the graveside. I think it is a bad idea and in bad taste. Leave the families aloneto grieve.
